Street Conversation XXIII
Today I decided to go back to my roots, when I first started to pickup girls and revived my oldest pickup line.
Sergiu: Nu vă supărați, cum ajung în Piața Unirii?
Excuse me, how do I get to Piața Unirii?
Girl: Mergi tot în față și tre’* s-o iei la dreapta și ajungi lângă Jaxx și de la Jaxx o iei tot în față pe lângă primărie și tre’ s-ajungi la Casa de Cultură și dup-aia** la stânga și tot în față și ai ajuns în Piața Unirii.
You go straight ahead and have to take a right and you get to near Jaxx and from Jaxx you go straight ahead next to the city hall and you have to get to the Culture House and after that to the left and straight forward and you got to Piața Unirii.
*Tre’ is the short form of ‘trebuie’ (have to).
** Dup-aia is the short form of ‘după aia’ (after that).
Grammar XXIII
Verbs
Taking it to the next level with two verbs. We already know the verb a se duce (to go). Now we will conjugate a merge which means the same thing.

The second verb of the day is a se supăra. This verb is used a lot. The expression „excuse me” we say as „don’t get upset”.

Kati: Nu e departe de-aici. E chiar aproape.
It’s not far from here. It’s actually close. (This is me when giving directions, I just say it’s nearby)
Sergiu: Cum ajung acolo?
How do I get there?
Kati: Mergeți tot înainte, și o luați apoi la stânga.
You go straight ahead and then you take the left.
